Books don’t arrive fully formed—no matter how much we might wish they did. They take effort, reflection, and often, outside support. As an author, you’ve already done the hard work in completing your manuscript. Now let me bring fresh eyes, creative insight, and craft expertise to help illuminate your work.

I offer a range of editing services for fiction writers, including Manuscript Reviews and Developmental Editing (also known as a substantive editing), as well as Stylistic Editing.  

For both Manuscript Reviews and Developmental Editing, I look at the big picture of your novel or story. I undertake a careful reading of your manuscript, looking at structure, character development, plot, and theme. I also pay attention to point of view, pacing, dialogue, setting, and voice. I approach your manuscript with curiosity and a deep respect for your unique voice.

If you choose a Manuscript Review, I'll provide an editorial letter identifying strengths in your manuscript and detailing areas where it may be heightened or improved. 

If you choose a full Developmental Edit, I'll provide a more detailed editorial letter as well as page by page comments in track changes with a focus on craft.

I also offer Stylistic Editing to enhance your writing at the paragraph and sentence level.
